	Sunday - my day off. It was nice to have the day off today although the weekends when I work Saturday always seem really short. Oh well. :) Didn't do much in the morning. Got up late. :) Went to see Nanny in the early afternoon. She was convinced that we were there to bring her home and wasn't happy when we told her that she had to stay there for a while longer till she gets better.
After that we went to Manhattan to eat at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants - Chevy's. They have the best chips and salsa. Had yummy blackened mahi mahi fillet. Along with some beans and rice and a great midori melon margarita. Yum. :)

	It was a very sleepy, laid back day today. I felt sort of out of it all day. I think holidays make you tired. :) A lot of offices had the day off today but I was at work of course as usual. At least it was fairly quiet which made me even more sleepy. :)
Went to TK's after work and had yummy buffalo wings followed by some chips and salsa. Not a very health-concious evening but the week was already lost anyway. I will start over next week. :) I will be at work tomorrow as well. Hope it will be an easy day. Well, we'll see. Think I will go to bed early again tonight.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

 

Had a good Thanksgiving. Went to see Nanny at the rehab place around noon. They had a Thanksgiving dinner there as well, with turkey and stuffing and all the usual Thanksgiving food. Her roommate is pretty funny. A quirky little old lady. :)

After that we went to Mike's aunt Judi's house. Mike's sister Kristina, her fiance Chuck and the kids Shannon and Erik met up with us there as well. Judi's daughter Gabby spent the day with her dad and his family. So it was a smaller Thanksgiving this year. Just us, Kristina, Chuck, the kids, Judi and grandma (Mike's other grandmother who lives with his aunt Judi).

It was still very nice. Lots of yummy food. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnips, corn, green beans, rolls .... and of course pie (pumpkin and apple) for dessert.

Turkey makes you sleepy so I think I will go to bed early tonight.
Right now I am listening to Christmas songs .... I should also write some Christmas cards. Well, we'll see. :)

Work actually wasn't too bad today. The work luncheon turned out ok too. Actually were able to leave on time as well which was nice for a change.

Dinner turned out to be a disaster though. I attempted to make this recipe from Allrecipes.com. Whoever thought that putting 1/4 cup of Italian seasoning and a tablespoon of red pepper in a recipe was a good idea was definitely very mistaken.
It was HORRIBLE ! We ended up getting pizza ... oh well.

Going to watch Just Married now.
Can't believe it's Thanksgiving already tomorrow. We will go and see Nanny at the rehab place in the morning before we go to Mike's aunt's house later. She got transferred there today so things seem to be going according to plan. Hope she gets all better soon.

Busy day today at work. Or maybe I should say - a long day. I was bored out of my mind for most of the day but got really busy around 3 o'clock and ended up staying at work till about 6:30 or so. The holidays are always super busy.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better but I am not so sure really. I guess the paycheck will be nice with all this overtime this week.

After work and dinner I made manicotti for tomorrow's "Thanksgiving" lunch at work. I am not so sure what's Thanksgiving about manicotti but at least I know it will be good. Other things we will have include rice, mashed potatoes and chicken. We will see how it turns out I guess. :)

Another day ... Thankfully Nanny is doing well. They already started excercises and rehab with her so she can get back on her feet as soon as possible. They might move her to the rehab facility as early as Wednesday. I finished working on my England pages so if you want to check them out click HERE. Hope you like them. :) My co-worker Dan is also back full-time since today which is really nice. He was leaving at 2 every day because he was coaching football at WestConn. Now that the season is over he is back full-time at Marcus Dairy. That's about all that's new with me for today. Think I will go to bed early today. :)

Sunday evening ... this turned out to be a long weekend. We went to Mike's grandmother's 80th birthday party Saturday evening. We ended up staying till about 9 o'clock or so. Mike's other grandmother who lives with us had quite a few glasses to drink so Mike helped her up the stairs when we got home (her bedroom is upstairs). Shortly after that we heard a big thump. She fell while she was changing to go to bed. Mike tried to help her up but she couldn't move.

So we had to call 911 and an ambulance came. She wasn't very happy since she didn't want to go to the emergency room. They had to call the police for backup since she refused to go to the hospital with them. She did give in in the end and they brought her to the hospital. They took a x-ray and it turned out that her hip was broken. She actually just came out of surgery this evening and everything went fine during her surgery. I am very glad about that. Now she probably has to stay in the hospital for a few more days and after that she will have to start rehab to walk again. Let's hope everything goes well.

SUNNY ... Thank god. :) The weather has improved and we are supposed to have a nice sunny weekend.

I am glad it's finally Friday. Went to get my hair cut after work. Nothing drastic really, just got my ends cut. Looks nice again.

Made dinner (Tortellini with Broccoli) and gonna play Trivial Pursuit now. I am probably gonna lose but that's ok. :)

RAIN .. RAIN ... RAIN.
It's been raining lots lately although it isn't all that cold so I guess that's good. The weather is supposed to clear up starting tomorrow so the weekend should be nice. That's good because I am off from work Saturday and Sunday ... YAY. :)

Not too much else new really. Same old stuff at work .. this week has been dragging.
We got a new copy machine

yesterday. It's pretty cool cause it can print, make copies, fax, staple, scan and all sorts of other cool stuff. I know I am a sad case but I am actually excited about it. :)

I am glad tomorrow is Friday. Not too much planned for the weekend. Saturday we are going to a 80th birthday party for Mike's grandmother. Besides that we are probably going to stay home, maybe watch some DVDs or go out to eat one night. We will see. :)

Mondays are a pain .... At least I got to go out after work. My friend Sharon picked me up after work and we went out to eat at Bertucci's. YUMMY as always. After that we went to see the movie Love Actually. It was a holiday movie and I expected to really like it. My friends seemed to really like it but I wasn't so sure about it. There were some really funny/cute/romantic scenes but overall I wasn't a 100 % convinced. Oh well, it was a fun night out and a good thing after a long day at work.
