More Travels

HalifaxAerial1 September is going to turn out to be a busy month travel wise it seems - which of course is nothing to complain about. :)

Just booked our hotel for our trip to Halifax/Canada. We will be going there September 11-September 15. I am really looking forward to the trip. Roadtrips are always fun (it's about a 13 1/2 hour drive) and we have been talking about going to Halifax for ages. It looks like such a pretty city. And I love the Atlantic provinces. When we went to Prince Edward Island a few years back I had the best time. It was so gorgeous there. We will be staying at the Atlantica Hotel which seems to be right downtown so that's good.

September will definitely be busy for me. Will be back at work on September 16, then work for a few days and then off to Phoenix September 21-23. Yay for being able to travel. :) I am definitely looking forward to the trips. It's what keeps me going at the moment because work has been so busy. Another 6 days this week and possibly next week too. The time around the school startups and Labor Day is always a mess but it's even worse this year with about a 100 new schools we will be serving. Of course new business is always good but trying to get everything organized and taken care of is a whole other issue. :)

Mail update: No mail has gone out since the last update :( Received letters from/still owe replies to: Caroline/Scotland, Lotte/Demark, Celia/MA, Alex/Germany and Jetta/Finland.

Phoenix - here I come :)

Standing_stones1 I know I haven't updated in ages once again. Work has been pretty busy since the schools are starting back up now and all the deliveries have to be arranged. We have all these new school systems this year as well but nothing is completely finalized and so much up in the air, it's a total waiting game. Can't wait until everything is settled and back into a normal routine.

On a more fun note, I booked a flight to Phoenix today. Going Sept. 21st to Sept. 23rd. I know it's just a real short trip but I am just going out there to meet some friends for a book release party. Yes, call my crazy, I am flying all the way out there for that. *grin* I am a big fan of the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon and as her new book in the series is coming out on Sept. 22nd there is a release party at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. My teacher friend Linda from Santa Barbara is also going and we will both be staying at another fan's (Cyndy) house. Definitely looking forward to the trip. :)

Mail update: Since the last update letters went out to: Celia/MA, Charles/TN, Carmen/Malta and Jessica/DE. Received letters from/still owe replies to: Celia/MA, Alex/Germany and Jetta/Finland.

New bedset and a day off

Oliver-new bedset Enjoying a nice day off at home. Only working 4 days this week since I am going to work 6 next week. It's been a nice relaxing day so far catching up with some emails, putting the new bedset I got in Austria on the bed (and of course our cat Oliver was "helping" while I was doing that) and surfing the web. Also played around with my Spanish Rosetta Stone and will play the Sims for a bit now I think.

Not too much else new really. No plans yet for the weekend but that might change. Will have to see how the weather is going to be as well. Next week Monday I have another Austrian meet-up in NYC so I am looking forward to that. Well, off to play the Sims now. Going to make bratwurst and roasted garlic-rosemary potatoes for dinner later.

Yummy food and another week gone by

Hopkinsinn Another week gone by. I guess time flies even faster when you are back in a day-to-day routine. Oh well. Wasn't a bad week all in all. I managed to take Wednesday off which helped with catching up with some of my tasks/chores (like unpacking, finding space for all the goodies I brought home, answering emails, etc.) Had to work today (Sat) but was able to get out a little before 2 so it wasn't too bad.

Tonight we have reservations at 7:30 at the Hopkins Inn (a lovely restaurant owned by an Austrian couple). I am really looking forward to going there since we usually only go about once a year (it's a little pricey). It's nice to go in the summer when you can sit outside overlooking the lake. And of course the food is delicious. I am pretty sure I am going to get the cordon bleu and the toblerone sundae for dessert. Yummm. :)

Back in the US

Ct_wine_festival So here I am - back in the US. Vacations just tend to fly by way too fast but what can you do? I had a lot of fun and I guess that's all that really counts in the end. :)
Work was ok on Friday and Saturday so that was good. No huge disasters while I was gone I think. Haven't spoken to everybody yet but so far so good. :)

Today we are off to the CT Wine Festival in Goshen, CT. We went a year or two ago and had a lot of fun so I am looking forward to it. The weather is kind of unstable and a bit rainy but oh well. Most of the tasting areas will be tented anyway so it shouldn't be a huge deal. They also have tasting booths where they have food samples which is also always fun. Should be a good day.

Mail update: Letters went out on Friday to: Celia/MA, David/IN, Kimber/Canada, Tiffany/OK and Nicki/OZ, Received letters from/still owe replies to: Jetta/Finland.
