Pretty laid back weekend
Sunday afternoon already again. I was off all weekend but as usual the weekend went by way too quick. Yesterday I did some things around the house, we also went to the mall to the JCPenney Optical department to buy new glasses for me. The frames I picked out look very similar to the ones I currently have so I don't know if people will really even be able to tell the difference. I just needed new ones since my prescription changed. JCPenney had a 50% off sale and it still cost $180 but still much better than the $350 they quoted me at Sears in January. Granted they are polycarbonate (lighter lenses) and also transition lenses (they darken when you go into the sunlight) but still. Oh well. Went to the grocery store and then had dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. Yumm.
Today has been a pretty lazy day. I answered a bunch of emails. Will make myself some more tea in a minute and then go and fix some buttons on a shirt and a pair of pants. Nothing too exciting. :) Later we are probably going to order pizza, have some wine and catch up on some of our shows.

Happy Spring
I saw this Garfield cartoon today and it just totally fits for the weather we are having right now. Yesterday it was sunny and fairly ok but today we woke up to snow. It even stuck to the roads and cars a little bit. Yuck. Tomorrow it's supposed to be partly cloudy again but then Wednesday and Thursday rain/snow mix again. I am so ready for actual nice weather.
Work was fairly ok today. We are in the process of setting everything up for our upcoming move to the new office. Still not sure when we will be going exactly, still tentively looking at the weekend of April 2/3 for our move. We will see, just waiting for the phone company to finalize everything now.

First Day of Spring
So officially the first day of spring. :) At least it's sunny outside today so that's nice but temperature wise pretty cool (45°F or 7°C). On Thursday and Friday we had close to 70°F (21°C). All next week looks to be only between 39-45°F or 4-7°C. And a bunch of days a mixture of rain and snow too. Yuck. I am so ready for the nice spring weather to come and actually stay. Hopefully soon.
Not too much new really. Had an annoying day at work yesterday. We were supposed to get out at about 1-2pm but didn't actually leave till close to 4pm. It was one of those days, every call I answered was some sort of problem call it seemed. Today we are just staying home, catching up on some things around the house. I made myself a yummy spinach salad with mushrooms, red onions, a hard boiled egg, some crumbled up bacon and some canned tuna. Having lots of tea and will probably catch up with some more of our recorded shows later. Also fighting an annoying cold that is slowly getting better but still hanging on.
Had the day off on Tuesday but didn't really do a lot. Mostly watched the Food Network, answered some emails, read some and had lots of tea. Was nice to have a relaxed day at home with the cats though. Although Mindy was being a real maniac on Tuesday, what a nutty cat. :)

Wicked Weekend
What a fun night yesterday. Took the train into NYC and saw "Wicked" on Broadway. Really loved the show, it was definitely one of the best musicals we have seen so far. Our seats were good too, first row balcony, kind of in outcropping on the left side of the stage. Really neat.
After the show we went to our usual Italian restaurant in the theater district, Osteria al Doge. We have been going there since 2000 (actually the spot where we officially got together) and it never disappoints. Had their lasagna again - to die for. Took the train back afterwards and finally got home around 3am (or well 4am if you count the fact that we switched over to Daylight Savings Time last night)
So didn't get up until 1pm today and still kind of dragging. Will probably make myself some more tea in a minute and then eventually catch up on some recorded shows. Don't like that it's Monday already tomorrow. Ugh. :( But if all goes well I am supposed to be off on Tuesday since I am working on Saturday. So that will be nice.

Rainy Weekend
Another pretty relaxing weekend. Had to work yesterday, got out about 2:30pm or so. Afterwards we went grocery shopping, then had an early dinner at TK's and watched lots of TV when we got home.
Today we slept in late, then relaxed at home. A really rainy dreary day today, perfect day to stay home, drink tea and relax. Wrote a few emails, watched some David Garrett clips/interviews on the computer etc. I really should have written some letters too but somehow didn't get to that.
Meeting some friends for dinner in a little bit. Originally planned to order pizza & stay in but heading out into the rain for a bit now. But it's only 5pm so we will be home early and will continue our catch up with our TV shows then. Maybe during the week I will finally have some time to catch up with my letters.
Next weekend on Saturday we have tickets to see "Wicked" on Broadway (my birthday gift for Mike since he has been wanting to see this show for ages). Looking forward to that. Will be nice to see a Broadway show again, feels like it's been a little while since we have been to one.
