Brisk blue skies, leaves blowing around, ...

Here's a quick hello from me. :) The week sort of dragged but in a way flew by as well. Went out with my friend Sharon on Tuesday after work. We went to see "Sydney White" - a typical teen movie but still cute in its own ways, then had dinner at Bertucci's. Thursday I was off (pretty much relaxed most of the day), worked on Saturday and today I spent most of the day cleaning and de-cluttering our kitchen. Now we are getting ready to go out for a nice meal. :) The weather has been much more fall like these past few days. It's been cool but very pretty. Brisk blue skies, leaves turning colors and blowing around, crunching when you step on them. :)

Can't believe that on Thursday my best friend Joanne will already be here. She's coming for a 10 day visit - yay. :) I am so excited. She will be here for my birthday - double yay. We will probably spend my birthday in NYC - shopping. :)

Mail update: Since the last update letters went out to: Nicki/Australia, Sarah/Canada, Michelle/Canada and Fiona/Scotland. Received letters from/owe replies to: Natalia/Poland, Tizz/Denmark, Charmaine/Malta, Barbara/Austria, Jessica/DE, Alex/Germany and Jetta/Finland.

Wine Tasting - North Fork, Long Island

Another week gone by ... time really does fly. This week really was dragging for the most part but we finally made it through and the best part is that I was off the whole weekend (Saturday & Sunday).

So yesterday we decided to take a daytrip out to the North Fork Wine Country in Long Island. This was inspired by a segment I saw on the Rachael Ray show way back in July. I have to say the North Fork of Long Island has some really pretty spots. It's much more rural and natural than the South Fork where the Hamptons and all the huge mansions are. The North Fork is populated with tons of vineyards, farms, etc.

We did some wine tasting at three different vineyards (Lenz Winery, Paumanok Vineyards and Macari Vineyards) The picture above was taken at Paumanok where I am enjoying a glass of semi-dry Riesling out on the deck overlooking the vineyard. :) We also stopped at the Village Cheese Shop in Mattituck and had the most delicious dinner at the Seafood Barge. I had the best Swordfish and Montauk mussels over orzo pasta and Mike's scallops were absolutely to die for as well. :)

Today's goal was supposed to be to catch up on some of my emails and letters. It's already 2:30 now and so far I haven't really accomplished too much. I am hoping to make myself another big mug of tea and try be more productive for the rest of the day. Let's see what happens.

Mail Update: So far letters are going out tomorrow to: Caroline/Scotland and Celia/MA. Received letters from/owe replies to: Charmaine/Malta, Barbara/Austria, Jessica/DE, Alex/Germany, Fiona/Scotland, Nicki/Australia, Jetta/Finland, Sarah/Canada and Michelle/Canada.
