And another Sunday has gone by rather quickly - as they seem to always do. Oh well. :)
I had a rather relaxing day today all in all. Slept in late, had some breakfast/lunch and then surfed the web for a little while. Started a letter to Jetta/Finland and then started chatting to my friend Joanne online. It was really nice to see her online and catch up.
Afterwards made some dinner and then wrote some more letters. Going to catch up on some TV shows or maybe a movie in a little bit and then it's back to work already again tomorrow. Weekends go way too fast, especially when you work on Saturdays. Oh well.
Short mail update. Since my last update letters have gone out to: Rebecca/FL,Tizz/Denmark, Pamela/FL and Kirsty/UK. Letters going out tomorrow to: Michelle/Winnipeg, Jetta/Finland, Steff/Maine and Lene/UK. Received letters from/owe replies to: Nadine/Tenerife, Fiona/Scotland, Syvil/PA, Carmen/Germany, Alex/Germany, Kirsty/UK, Celia/MA, Jessica/DE, Alison/UK, Cheryl/Mauritius and Charles/TN.

Nice relaxing day
This is the first time in a long time that I have had a day off during the week. I guess there are a few reasons. For a while there last year I actually had everything worked out where I didn't have to work Saturdays (a very brief period I might add) Then things started to get more unstable again and I had to work Saturdays but never had the time to take a day off during the week so just ended up accumulating comp days. So anyway, long story short: I have the day off today. :)
I went back to sleep for a while but ended up getting up around 9 am which is actually pretty early for me. I decided that it would be a good idea to make myself an omelette. So I made a veggie omelette (2 eggs, Swiss cheese, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes and basil) and had some tea.
Now it's 11:30 and I guess I am going to try and catch up on my emails and then write some letters. I also want to organize all my travel magazines and cut out the articles that I want to save and catalog them. Maybe I will get around to that.
And I guess I should also take down the rest of our Christmas decorations. Our tree has been taken down quite a bit ago but I still haven't taken down the rest of the decorations so I should really do that. February is awfully close and I wouldn't want to have them up then. :)
Short mail update. Since my last update letters have gone out to: Natalia/Poland, Kirsty/UK (2), Eunice/Malta and Lexi/DC. Received letters from/owe replies to: Michelle/Winnipeg, Jetta/Finland, Nadine/Tenerife, Rebecca/FL, Fiona/Scotland, Tizz/Denmark, Pamela/FL, Syvil/PA, Carmen/Germany and Lene/UK.

Yes we had our first snow of the season this Friday. I guess we can't complain about this winter with receiving our first snow in mid January. Plus it really only was an inch or less, nothing major. It was the kind of snow that sticked to everything though so everything was coated in white and looked really pretty. It was weird seeing everything in white. Made me realize that it's winter after all. *g* It's been pretty cold the past few days actually. I guess this is so we don't forget what season it is. :)
Had the day off today which was nice after a long week of training a new employee and working till 7 every night. Went to the library (I got the 3rd book in the "Anne of Green Gables" series to read) and then to Bruegger's Bagels in New Canaan, CT.
Spent the rest of the afternoon catching up with my emails, watching some Food Network shows and then had pizza + garlic bread for dinner. Yumm. Now going to watch the re-run of the Golden Globe Awards (we missed them when they were on originally) and have some win. Sounds like a good evening to me. :)
PS: Short mail update. No mail gone out. :( Still owe replies to: Michelle/Winnipeg, Jetta/Finland, Eunice/Malta, Kirsty/UK, Natalia/Poland, Nadine/Tenerife, Rebecca/FL, Fiona/Scotland, Lexi/DC, Tizz/Denmark and Lene/UK.
I am going to try and catch up with some of my mail tomorrow so I don't start to fall behind again.

How cool would it be to meet Rachael Ray
I really want to go to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. A bunch of Food Network personalities are going to be there including Rachael Ray. Oh wouldn't that be so cool ?
But we are already going to Chicago for a long weekend Feb. 10-Feb. 12 so we really can't be going on another trip just yet. Life's hard. *g*
PS: Short mail update. No letters have gone out since my last update. :( Still owe replies to: Michelle/Winnipeg, Jetta/Finland, Eunice/Malta, Kirsty/UK, Natalia/Poland and Lene/UK.

We're back :)
Ok, I know I haven't updated in ages. But everything's just been so busy ever since we got back from our vacation. We had a great rest of our stay in San Antonio and had a lot of fun. I know I still owe you all pictures from our trip to Austria in Dec. and now our photos from this trip to Miami/San Antonio. I'll get there soon - promise.
Work is slowly starting to fall into place again as well. I had some staffing problems, an employee that quit while we were gone so was trying to re-hire for that position. Training someone on it now so staying till 7 pm every night. Plus I am converting one other position to part-time so looking through resumes and interviewing for that. Fun fun fun.
PS: Short mail update. Since my last update letters went out to: Nadine/Tenerife, Nicole/CH, Kirsty/UK, Celia/MA, Stefan/Austria and Lena/Germany. Wrote letters that will be mailed out tomorrow to: Kirsty/UK, Karin/CH, Jessica/DE, Becki/MI and Lotte/Denmark. Still owe replies to: Michelle/Winnipeg, Jetta/Finland, Eunice/Malta and Lene/UK.

Hello from San Antonio
Hello everyone from San Antonio, Texas. We are having a good time on our trip so far. :)
Flew down to Miami Beach on Dec. 30th and got together with Kirsty and Laraine who were on vacation there.
Spent some time at two different malls on the 31st. The weather was so amazing. It was much more summer weather than New Year's Eve. Shorts and flip flops weather. The low for night time was 74 F.
On the 1st we flew on to San Antonio where we met up with my parents who are on vacation here. They have a time share they traded for the one they own in Spain. It's a really nice place on the outskirts of San Antonio, more like a condo than a hotel. The place has two bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, livingroom, all spread out over 2 floors.
Tuesday we went to a town called Fredericksburg which was really neat, loads of pretty stores and nice storefronts. Had a super yummy dinner at the Salt Grass steakhouse.
Today we went to downtown San Antonio, checked out some cool mansions and went to the Alamo right downtown. The weather was rather dreary today but at least it didn't start pouring until later in the day. Sitting at a Starbucks right now and gonna have dinner in a little while.
PS: Short mail update. Since my last update letters went out to: Melanie/OH, Carmen/Germany, Kirsty/UK, Barbara/Linz, Pamela/FL, Rebecca/FL, Liz/Taiwan, Nina/WA, Charmaine/Malta, Syvill/PA, Charles/TN and Kimber/Canada. Still owe replies to: Michelle/Winnipeg, Nadine/Tenerife, Nicole/CH, Jetta/Finland and Lena/Germany. And of course whatever mail is waiting for me back home (but at least I am making decent progress in catchng up *g*)
