Relaxed Weekend. .. England News ... etc
And it's Sunday again. Had another weekend where we had both Saturday and Sunday off which was nice. Always good to take advantage of being able to take time off. Never know what will happen in the future.
I have been training with the girl who is pregnant and due in mid October so I am ready for when she leaves to take over on payroll and other accounting duties. So busy times are definitely in my future. :)
Saturday we went to the movies for a matinee to see "The Intern" starring Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro. Really enjoyed the movie. Both funny and heartfelt all at once. Definitely would recommend it. And afterwards went for lunch in Fairfield at Flipside.
Today, Sunday, we slept in. Now at lunch at Rosy's. Going to stop at the store after to pick up some cheese and crackers. Will catch up on TiVo and relax for the rest of the day.
In exciting news I booked a flight to England for my friend Nicola's wedding in November. Flying into London and taking the bus down to Portsmouth to see my friend Joanne. Then heading to Nicola's wedding together. Should be fun. Mike can't come due to work but at least I managed to make it happen on a quick 4 night trip. Looking forward to it. :) :) :)

NYC - Hudson River Park
And somehow it is already Sunday evening again. How do weekends fly by that fast, especially if we have both Saturday and Sunday off? At least we had both days off which was a nice change of pace.
Yesterday, Saturday, we took the train down to NY. From Grand Central we took the 7 subway to the new Hudson Yards subway stop. And walked over to the path that runs along the Hudson. Lots of it has been turned into parkland with nice greenery, lawns, etc. Makes for a nice walk.
Walked down to the Village and crossed over to where Arturo's is. Had some delicious coal oven pizza. After lunch we walked back uptown to Grand Central and took the train back home.
Today we slept in nice and late which was very relaxing. Then had brunch at the White Horse Pub in Marbledale. Always a great spot. And the weather cooperated nicely too so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the nice fall weather. Brisk blue skies, a little breezy, just nice.
And tomorrow is already Monday again. Ugh. And I will need to spend a lot more time training with the girl who I will cover for when she goes on maternity leave. She isn't due until mid October but you never know with these things of course. So it's best to get prepared now and be ready just in case.
In more fun news. We booked a 2-night getaway (Fr-Sun) in the Finger Lakes in October for my birthday. Looking forward to some relaxation, wine tasting and yummy food.

Art .. Weekend .. Stuff
Happy Sunday. How can it be Sunday night already again? Guess that's what happens when you work 6 day weeks. Oh well. :)
Made it past Labor Day so that is at least something. :) Also started another new person this past Wednesday so been busy training. I will need to give her another week or so before I can myself go and train with our employee who is pregnant so I can learn all the payroll and accounting stuff I need to know before she leaves. Never a dull moment.
Saturday, yesterday, we worked and then went to the movies to see "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" Fun movie. Today, Sunday, we checked out the art museum at Vasser College in Poughkeepsie. Free admission and a neat, small museum. Afterwards we had lunch at a restaurant in Poughkeepsie we have been to before (The Mill House Brewery)
Now it's already Monday tomorrow. We will see what the rest of this coming week brings and update accordingly. :)

Labor Day Weekend
And here we are. September already. Where has this summer gone? I really don't know. Labor Day weekend officially marks the end of summer here in the US even though technically according to the calendar it's still summer. :)
I guess ultimately time just flew by getting through all the changes at work, training employees and figuring out all the details. Plus 2 weeks in Europe which of course was nice but flew by super fast too.
Not sure what's next for us. Besides work. Which is all consuming at the moment. I have someone else starting on Wednesday so more training in my immediate future. Plus I myself will need to train since I am going to be covering a girl who is going on maternity leave and due in October.
We have a wedding invitation in London in November and I really hope we can make that. Just so hard to know right now. Everyone cross their fingers for me because I really do want to go!!!
Well let's see what the rest of this week brings. One baby step at a time.
